HPB Presents: Galaxy Nails

Il tema per il mese di luglio del gruppo Facebook Hobby Polish Bloggers è una manicure ispirata dallo spazio.

Mi piace molto essere in questo gruppo perchè ogni  mese scegliamo democraticamente il tema da interpretare e poi siamo libere di usare qualsiasi tecnica per realizzarlo.

Il tema dello spazio è molto ampio, tra i vari suggerimenti che ci siamo date c'erano pianeti, stelle, alieni, e qualsiasi cosa fosse collegato al tema.

Io ho scelto di realizzare una galaxy manicure velocissima.

Ho usato infatti delle decalcomanie ad acqua su base bianca e come accent uno smalto olografico Picture Polish ispirato proprio ai colori del cielo, blu con toni petrolio.

Queste decalcomanie che ricoprono tutta l'unghia sono un pò antipatiche da posizionare ma poi danno l'illusione di saper fare una nail art fantastica senza usare nessun pennello!

Ho applicato un cristallo sull'accent e sigillato tutto con il top coat.

This month prompt for Facebook Hobby Polish Bloggers group is space.

I really enjoy being part of this group because we democratically choose the theme and then we are free to interpret it openly.

The space theme is very large, our hints were planets, aliens and stars.

I choose a quick and easy galaxy manicure.

I used indeed some water decals over a white base and I paired them with an holo accent. It is a Picture Polish inspired by blue sky with a little of teal in it.

Full nail water decals aren't so easy to put in place but they give you the feeling of being a great nail artist without holding a brush!

I applyed a clear crystal on accent nail and I toped with top coat.

ABC Challenge: L is for Lemon

Per la lettera L dell' ABC Challenge non ho avuto dubbi: una Lemon Manicure con i miei nuovi water decal a tema.

Questi water decals mi sono stati inviati dalla ditta Nur Besten e sono stati così gentili da creare un codice sconto del 10% per i lettori, basta inserire il codice FFL10 al checkout.

Questa volta, invece di applicare solo le decalcomanie, ho creato uno sfondo con il mio nuovo disco per stamping di MoYou London, ormai ho quasi tutta la collezione Tropical, la mia preferita.

Sono partita da una base bianca e ho applicato due strati di Kiko Candy Sprinkles in giallo. Questo top coat glitter è molto particolare, i glitter sono finissimi e di colori pastello.

Ho stampato in giallo l'immagine grande dei limoni dal disco 08 della Tropical Collection.

Ho applicato le water decal (le trovi a questo link) tralasciando l'anulare, ho decorato ogni unghia in modo diverso.

Con il top coat ho protetto e sigillato tutto.

For letter L of my ABC Challenge I had no doubt: a Lemon Manicure with my new lemon water decal.

These water decals were sent me from Nur Besten and they were so kind to give me a 10%  off discount code, you can use the code FFL10 at checkout.

This time I did not apply plain decals. I created a background for my decals with my new stamping plate from MoYou Tropical collection.

I started from a white base and I applyed two layers of yellow Kiko Candy Sprinkles. This is a top coat with pastel tiny little glitter.

I stamped in yellow the full nail lemon image from MoYou London Tropical collection 08 plate.

Then I applyed the water decals (you can find them at this link) except for ringfinger. I decorated each nail with different patterns.

I protected my nails with top coat.

Make Up Tutorial: Urban Chaos

Quando in viaggio di nozze negli States comprai la palette Electric di Urban Decay pensai che una palette dai colori così pazzi l'avrei usata raramente.

Invece è una delle palette che preferisco e la uso spesso in estate o per trucchi dai colori vivaci. Gli ombretti che contiene sono tutti molto pigmentati e facili da sfumare.

I viola, però, macchiano tremendamente la pelle, quindi il giorno seguente averli usati faccio sempre uno smokey marrone che copra la palpebra macchiata.

I make up color block mi piacciono molto, in questo make up occhi ho unito il viola e il blu, colori della stessa famiglia ma abbastanza diversi.

Per rendere il make up più brillante ho aggiunto un pigmento iridescente sopra all'ombretto viola e ho completato il tutto con una linea di eyeliner nero.

Make Up Tutorial: Urban Chaos

Step 1: dopo aver applicato la base trasparente su tutta la palpebra, applico la matita viola sulla parte mobile












Step 2: applico l'ombretto viola più chiaro nella piega













Step 3: applico l'ombretto viola scuro sopra la base di matita, lo fondo con quello più chiaro applicato nella piega











Step 4: per la parte inferiore applico sia all'interno che all'esterno la matita blu e la fisso con l'ombretto dello stesso colore












Step 5: picchietto il pigmento iridescente sopra il viola scuro












Step 6: traccio una linea di eyeliner nero













Step 7: applico il mascara

When I bought Urban Decay Electric palette I tought I'd have rarely used it.

On the contrary it is one of my favourite palettes, I always use it in summer or fo colorful looks.

The eyeshadows inside are all very pigmented and blendable but purples stain skin badly. I always must do a dark smokey eyes the day after I used them.
I really like the color block make up looks and in this make up I used purple and blue, same familiy colors but different.
To make this make up shine I added an iridescent pigment over purple eyeshadow.

• Eyeshadows: from Urban Decay Electric Urban, Jilted and Chaos, Mac Brulè, Neve Cosmetics Aurora Boreale

Make Up Tutorial: Urban Chaos

Step 1: after applying a clear base I I apply the purple pencil on the lid

Step 2: I apply the lighter purple in the crease

Step 3: I apply the darker purple on the pencil base, I blend it with the crease

Step 4: on the lower lashline I apply the blue pencil and I fix it wih the blue eyeshadow

Step 5: I pat the iridescent pigment on the dark purple


Step 6: I apply the black eyeliner on the lashline

Step 7: I apply mascara

Twinsie Tuesday: Superman Manicure - Someone Else Does Your Nails

Il tema del gruppo Twinsie Tuesday di oggi è molto particolare: abbiamo dovuto trovare un'altra persona da cui farci fare le unghie. Implicito nel gioco il fatto che la persona che ce le avrebbe fatte non sarebbe dovuta essere una nail artist!

Lo abbiamo proposto come gioco di coppia, mio marito si è subito prestato e ha deciso lui il tema, i colori e la tecnica!

Ho sudato freddo quando si è avvicinato ai miei Helmer per scegliere lo smalto, ma nessuna boccetta ha subito danni ^_^''

Ha voluto fare una nail art con un supereroe e ha trovato nelle mie cose degli sticker e delle decalcomanie adatte.

Io ho dato solo dei suggerimenti a voce e devo dire che li ha seguiti benissimo, dalla foto si vede infatti che sta sigillando la punta!

Prima delle foto ho ripulito il girocuticole con il pennellino e il solvente, ma devo dire che non c'è stato troppo lavoro da fare, con lo smalto blu temevo a ogni pennellata di trovarmi con le cuticole come Puffetta!

Dopo aver fatto due passate di smalto ha applicato lo sticker con il simbolo di Superman e la decalcomania ad acqua, essendo del tipo grande non era facile da posizionare ma grazie alla sua esperienza con il modellismo è stato molto preciso!

Si è molto dispiaciuto quando due giorni dopo ho tolto tutto, non ha ancora capito che la metà del fascino della nail art sta nella sua effimerità! ;)

Today prompt for Twinsie Tuesday group is one of a kind: someone else does your nails. Clearly this mustn't be a nail addicted person!

I suggest it as a couple game to my husband and he said yes!

He chose the polish, the theme and the technique!

I was in a cold sweat when he opened my Helmer's drawers but no polish bottles was harmed ^_^

He chose a superhero manicure and he found some useful stickers and water decals in my stash.

I just gave him some advice and he followed my suggestion, from the pic you can see him wrapping the edge!

I only cleaned the cuticle area with a brush and acetone, but it was not a hard work because he was very accurate.

After two coats of blue polish he applyed the Superman sticker and the full nail decal. It was not easy to do but he has some experience with model making.

He was so sorry when two days later I changed my manicure. He didn't understand that the charm of a nail art is being so ephemeral. ;)

ABC Challenge: K is for Kaleidoscope

La lettera K dell'ABC Challenge mi ha fatto davvero pensare a lungo, la K non è davvero una lettera facile!

Alla fine, mi è venuto in mente un disco per nail stamping che ho usato una sola volta, il #03 della collezione Kaleidoscope di MoYou London.

Ho deciso di fare solo l'accent con la tecnica dello stamping e per il resto delle unghie un semplice layering (aggiungere a uno smalto un top coat con effetto speciale) con uno smalto che adoro e che avevo già usato in questa manicure.

Sono partita da una base bianca e vi ho applicato due passate di China Glaze Point Me to the Party.

Nel frattempo ho preparato uno sticker stampando una delle mmagini del disco con lo smalto nero e colorandolo con i colori primari dell'arcobaleno.

Ho applicato lo sticker sull'accent e poi ho protetto tutto con il top coat.

I thought about K of ABC Challenge for a while, K is not an easy letter!

Then a nail stamping plate came to my mind, #03 from MoYou London Kaleidoscope collection. I used this plate just for one time.

I decided to do my accent with reverse stamping technique and to leave the rest of my nails with a simple layering.

I layered my base with a polish that I do love and that I used before, you can see my mani here.

I started from a white base and topped with two layers of  China Glaze Point Me to the Party.

Meantime I created a nail sticker with black stamping polish. I colored the sticker with a bunch of rainbow polishes.

I applyed the sticker on my accent nail and I protected my nail art with top coat.

Sono sempre alla ricerca di nuovi dischetti per il nail stamping, ne possiedo una quantità sfacciata ma quando vedo dei nuovi disegni non riesco mai a resistere!

MoYou London è una ditta inglese che lancia nuovi dischi ogni settimana, per il mese di Luglio ha lanciato una nuova collezione tutta dedicata ai mosaici marocchini, la Arabesque.

La pin up che presenta la collezione si chiama Leila e indossa un elegante kaftano bianco con ricami oro.

I dischi MoYou sono tutti di dimensioni grandi, 6,5 x 12,5 cm e hanno la particolarità di avere due misure per i disegni che devono coprire tutta l'unghia.

Io ho unghie piccoline e per me sono perfetti i dischi con disegni standard, per unghie più lunghe o più larghe ci sono invece le versioni XL.

Alcuni dischi mi sembrano molto interessanti, io ho aggiunto alla mia wish list i numeri 3 e 5.

I own several nail stamping plates but I am always looking for new ones.

MoYou London is an english brand that launches new plates every week.

For July it launched a new collection all about Moroccan mosaics, the Arabesque collection.

The pin up that presents this collection is Leila, she wear an elegant kaftan in white and gold.

MoYou London plates measure 6,5x12,5 cm and they have regular size and XL size plates.

For my little nailsthe regular size plates are perfect, if you have larger or longer nails you can use the XL plates.

I found some of these new plates interesting and I added #3 and #5 to my wish list.
