Extreme make up: Odalisque

** English text at bottom page **

When I was a child the odalisque costume was my forbidden dream. She is the harem slave of ancient Ottoman Empire, a dream for every man.

Getting over my childhood embarrassements, together with Katia I perfomed my odalisque.

We imagine her lying lazy on her undone bed full of colored and precious fabrics. She is doing her make up, maybe she want to make a hit with the sultan!

For this costume we used a belly dancer dress, with golden sequins and coins, you can find it every where in different colors and style.

The tambourine hat with the veil that hide the face was made in a couple of hours from my aunt.
My hair was hidden under a long black wig, for sure I'm feeling more comfortable wearing this one instead of the blonde wig I wear for the angel!

We had so much fun trying to get smoke from the lamp while shooting, but the genie did not appear. It was a pity because we had our three(hundreds) wish list ready for him!

For the make up I did a classic arabic make up with warm eyeshadow in the centre of the lid and the bold eyeliner. I added the bindi in the middle of the forehead. I did a strong contouring, I love how thin my nose appears!

Emani gave us the cosmetics you see in this post, their packagings are so elegant and they have holo arabesques on them that we used them in the shoot!
